Cats in the Bible (Bright Year: Day 22)

I have a love/hate relationship with cats. To be clear: they have a love/hate relationship with me.

Cat owners are discouraged to find that there is no reference to “cat” in the whole Bible. It’s true. Check a concordance.

Here’s the consolation, however. The risen Jesus is most commonly compared to a species of cat. “Weep no more; behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has conquered” (Rev 5:5a, ESV). All the merits of the feline world - and superior in this: He is unequivocal in His love.
